Mini Esme Girl's Tunic or Jumper

Esme is a fabulous garment which can be dressed up or down for any occasion.  The pattern gives you two options: you can make this long sleeved, with a princess collar (see our adult version for this look), or sleeveless with a simple square neck (as in the picture).

Knitting techniques include:  increasing and decreasing sts and cabling

To fit the following chest measurements:

3-4 years: To fit approx 59.5cm/23″ chest (Tunic weight 200g: Jumper weight 250g)
5-6 years: To fit approx 63.5cm/24 1/2″ chest (Tunic weight 200g: Jumper weight 250g)
7-8 years: To fit approx 67cm/ 26″ chest (Tunic weight 250g: Jumper weight 300g)
9-10 years: To fit approx 71cm/ 27 1/2″ chest (Tunic weight 250g: Jumper weight 350g)

Knitted on 4 mm straight needles.

Tension: 20 sts and 29 rows over 10 cm square using 4mm needles in stocking stitch.
