Shades and Batches
We often have customers contact us who would like an extra ball of yarn to finish a garment. Up until now, we have had to ask them to send us a sample of what they are knitting with so we can colour match it this end.
As you know, we don’t dye our yarn and so each batch is variable in colour, depending on the fleece we put in to make it. We are now having our yarn manufactured by The Natural Fibre Company in Cornwall and the great news is that they put batch numbers on the finished yarn labels. This is so much more efficient for all of us!
It will take a while for our existing stock to be replaced, but with your help, the turn around will be quick! We may even try and speed it up with a special offer…? If you sign up for our newsletter, you’ll be the first to know. In the meantime, if you’d like to know more about how yarn is spun, check out this video.
Lynn was one of the unlucky people who wanted a particular shade of yarn we had sold out of. Using her creative head, Lynn adapted what she was going to do. She says:
I changed the design of my scarf to compensate for the shades. It looks really good and it’s soft to wear. Really pleased.
We love the style Lynn has achieved with this image and wow, what a scrumptious accessory!
