Calling all knitter, spinners, weavers and fibre enthusiasts for a fab’ day out
On 8th June 2014 there is a national day for all farms across the UK to open their doors and share what they do with the local community. Burwash Manor is embracing this concept and we’ll be there. We’d like to make this a fantastic celebration of fibre and if you’d like to come along (with your needles, spinning wheel, crochet hook, loom etc., please email email@example.com so we know what size marquee to order!
Along with meeting our alpacas, it has just confirmed, Pauline and David will be coming over with some of their super friendly alpacas which you can take for a walk. (Price to be confirmed).
This should be a great day out and we look forward to seeing you soon.

We have got farm walks, a chance to meet the farmer and the animals, tractor and trailer rides, pond dipping, a barbeque and beer tent and heaps of activities for children. (This includes making bread from wheat). Not to mention our displays of spinning (we’ve two spinners coming, can you join us?), ferreting, sheep shearing, farm machinery, vintage tractors and silage making.
The farm is open from 10.00 a.m. and activities start from 11.00am until 4.00pm.
If you are too far away for joining us in Cambridgeshire, check out this website and search for a farm local to you. Share your photos and stories with us so we can prove to Peter Jones and his ilk that knitting is a vibrant and flourishing pastime and anything to do with fibre is only done by fabulous people!
