It was cold, wet and grey when we set off on our journey to Harrogate last Wednesday. But we are not ones to let the weather affect us and spirits were high! We picked up Karen on the way and off we went. Karen helped us on the stand at Alexandra Palace, but this would be her first time with us for an entire show. Everyone were looking forward to a fun time with lots of yarn goodness! We arrived in Harrogate mid afternoon and by 7pm the stall was set up and ready for action the following morning.
We had hired an apartment through Harrogate Serviced Apartments for the second year running and once again this proved to be a great move! We had a fabulous three story town house all to ourselves with a fabulous kitchen Kari-Helene and Bronwen made the absolute most of serving up home made dinners every night. You need good food and lots of energy to last all day on the busy stand!
Karen is a fabulous knitter and she has already knitted a selection of our garments, Icon, Helene and Duchess all got worn on the stand over the 4 days. She looks fabulous in all of them but the true stand out piece must be her Icon dress! Looking fabulous, Karen!
We do love it when customers come to the stand to show us what they have made since last year, and this year Debbie came to show her another beautifully knitted Icon dress! Great job, Debbie!
Kari-Helene swings by the Knitted Textile Student Awards every year. This was were her knitting career started and she really enjoys seeing what talent they have on display. This year showed a huge range of knitwear with some stunning pieces showcasing various techniques. Pieces incorporated techniques such as intarsia, swiss darning, embroidery, hand dying and caret making. Truly fabulous!
