Learning Curve

When Lucy bought the Al Paca Knitting Kit, she had every intention of making him. Her 16 year old daughter, Sarah, had other ideas.  Determined to master DPNs, Sarah set about making the legs and tummy with supervision from Lucy.  By the time Sarah had mastered the stitch and circular knitting techniques, Lucy found herself redundant.  Sarah made the face, neck and body on her own and is better at using DPNs than her mother!

Lucy emailed us with Al Chilling in the Sunshine and said “We are very pleased with his face and cute expression, and the yarn is beautifully soft.”

Tracy made a few suggestions about trimming the threads so that his ‘fleece’ has a more uniform look.  She said:

·         Undo the ply on all the strands (I can see some are still in their original twist)
·         Carefully trim all the strands to a uniform length (this makes the appearance of a thicker fleece and more realistic)
·         Trim the legs so that the yarn is a bit shorter near the feet, gradually getting longer to the tops of the legs

This they have done and agree that Al looks even better!
