Unravel 2013

Having just returned from Unravel we have gone through our images and memories (and just about unpacked our suitcases) and have selected a few to share with you. I really hope you had a chance to come to Unravel, it really is a wonderful show, but if you didn’t, I hope our memories will give you a feel of how wonderful it was!

We packed the van and drove down from Cambridge on Friday morning. It was freezing cold and on the way there it actually started snowing a little. We know from experience how snowy weather and tricky driving conditions can affect attendance at a knitting show and were crossing fingers and toes it wouldn’t settle! We were lucky – although it snowed more or less all weekend it never did, so you could say the conditions were pretty optimal for selling knitwear!

Like last year the lovely town of Farnham had been yarnbombed. The first sign of this were on our way to the stand Saturday morning. It’s always good to know we are heading in the right direction!

At the front of the Maltings we were greated by some friendly sheep. The were so friendly they almost try to push through their pen to come say hi. Kari-Helene had a hard time leaving them to go sell, but the inner business woman won in the end and the sheep were left outside. Good thing they had lovely thick fleeces to protect them from the cold.

We were in the same spot as last year on the stage in the Great Hall. This really brings out Tracy’s inner performer and even before the stand was set up she was tap dancing and singing all over the place! We like our spot and think the long thin lay out suit our display. Did you like our stand? We would love to hear your comments! We were visited by several people who had knitted our garments and we managed to get a few snaps! Thank you for stopping by – we really appreciate it!

In the rush Kari-Helene forgot to take this lady’s name,
but we do think she looks stunning in her Olivia Coat
And again, Kari-Helene remembered to take the picture, forgot the name!
This is the Duchess cardigan, beautifully knitted and worn!
As always, the stunning knitted decorations, both outside and in, were magnificent!
The cafe had been turned into an underwater experience and the knitted sheep hanging over the entrance last year had found new grazing inside. And of course, we especially enjoy anything alpaca related, and the alpaca road sign made us smile!

We have already put Unravel on the agenda for next year and we hope you have too! See you there?

It looks like you had a great time. It looks as though it was a wonderful event. I would really like to go to Unravel as I have heard such good reports about it.

Yes, your stand looks good. Keeping to the same format makes returning visitors feel comfortable and they will know exactly where on your stand to go for what they are looking for.
