| Welcome to PURL Alpaca Designs, the Field to Fashion Company. We offer you an exclusive collection of alpaca garments you can either knit yourself, or have made to order. The yarn is from alpacas living within East Anglia; some from our own herd.
Our knitting kits include the yarn, exclusive design, washing instructions, label ('Designed by Purl, Made by Me'), plus a photograph of, and biography from, the alpaca the pattern is named after. This pack is sent to you in a natural cotton shopping bag so you can easily keep everything together.
We also offer knitting workshops. The workshops take place at the alpaca farm and as well as the knitting kit, you get one-to-one tuition, home made lunch and biscuits and the opportunity to meet some of the original fibre providers and feed them an apple!
If you're a spinner, we offer high quality raw fleece, if you are trying to use up your existing wool, our designs can be bought separately and if you have a project you want to use alpaca fibre for, our yarn can be bought by the ball.

Alpaca yarn
Alpaca yarn is one of the most luxurious in the world. Each individual strand acts in the same way as a duvet, so although lightweight, it is incre-dibly elastic and warm. We have the yarn washed but not dyed so each batch will have its own unique colour, created by the animals sheared in that year.
